The World Architecture Festival (WAF) is where the world architecture community meets to celebrate learn, exchange and be inspired.
It is the only architecture event where keynote talks from the industry’s most influential figures sit alongside live crit presentations and judge over 550 award finalists, global networks, a 550 project strong gallery and an international product exhibition.
WAF’s 2018 winning category award: New and Old – Completed Buildings was Zeitz MOCAA, (Museum of Contemporary Art in Africa) – architect Thomas Heatherwick’ innovative conversion of an industrial silo in Cape Town, South Africa into a contemporary art museum, that continues to collect awards.
It was also named Best Tall Building – Middle East & Africa at CTBUH.
The World Architecture Festival judges were particularly impressed with the museum’s entrance foyer, which they praised as a “unique, evocative space”.
