Sounds of the Bush Tour: Description

Marvel at the silent footsteps of passing elephant herds and the evocative cry of the fish eagles on the hunt among the rolling hills of the Eastern Cape.
Be surrounded by the primal sounds and aromatic fragrance of the African bush.

Experience the incomparable thrill of watching a herd of elephant wander across a savannah plain with their almost silent tread.
You’ll be surprised at how noisy a horde of grunting hippos can be – as well as enchanted by the abundance of bird life.

At Kichaka Luxury Game Lodge, you are able to walk around freely because the camp is discretely fenced for your safety.
From a stone and thatch lodge that blends seamlessly with the surroundings, you look out over a large waterhole teeming with game.

Each large and luxurious en suite room has a private deck with its own plunge pool
.
Cool down and enjoy cocktails from the adjacent rim flow pool while watching hippos, or from an expansive deck that offers excellent views.
The cuisine is befittingly 5-star, the service personal and flexible, with an option of dining privately if you choose.

The highly trained rangers are passionate about their slice of Eden. There are morning and evening safari game drives from open vehicles, guided bush walks or the option of self guided walks – and you can  take a ‘Cosmic Safari’ from the comfort of the lodge deck, looking at the velvety black, star-studded sky from a high powered telescope.

There is a rich variety of wildlife (with even the elusive nocturnal aardvark) since the property is set among five biomes of savannah grassland, valley bushveld, fynbos, riverine forest and acacia woodland.

Look over some of South Africa’s biomes & diversity, displayed at the Chelsea Flower Show …

The Eastern Cape area is malaria free and a mere hour’s drive from Port Elizabeth.
