A Cape Town woman put more than just her vote into the ballot box this week during the South African elections. “The ring slipped off after I cast my vote. I must have put my hand in too deeply (into the box) and the ring got snagged on the slot. My heart skipped a beat when I felt it go” said the woman who preferred to remain anonymous.
The good news is she got it back once the votes in the box had been counted. The other good news is that these game-changing elections were peaceful and well-supported in South Africa’s emerging democracy.
We hope all our ring-wearing readers across the world have a less stressful time when they cast their next votes. She certainly “put a ring on it” with her eventful vote this year!
