Giving a whole lot of thanks

The view from Waterkloof Winery restaurant

Now that we are heading into the holiday season, we found a few celebratory moments with food and wine from the fairest Cape. Good times are after all, best shared around a table with good food and wine, so why not celebrate at one of the many world-renowned local restaurants?

We can also be giving thanks to the bunch of dedicated passionate individuals and their teams that get up every day to make a difference on your plate and in your glass.

Here is a roundup of the latest Mercedes Benz Eat Out 2016 has to offer. You can see the heavy focus and dedication of the Western Cape Chefs dominating 90% of the list (and three are already featured on international lists prior), bolstered by the easier access to seasonal fresh and organic produce. Combine that with Andrea Mullineux recently winning the prestigious Wine Enthusiast’s Winemaker of the Year for 2016 – only the third female in 17-years to get it – and you’ll be pressed for time to savour it all.

With the exchange rate the hardest part to celebrate for locals, finding a booking in prime season will be challenging, but then again, that’s what specialised service providers like Cape Insights are there for, to give you the tailor made experience with thoughtful consideration.
