Iziko Museums

The Iziko Museums showcase Cape Town’s heritage through 12 national museums across three spheres – natural history, social history and arts.
The name means “a hearth” – the traditional centre of the home where families would get together to share oral histories – in isiXhosa.

Elizabeth Perrill’s research on Zulu and contemporary ceramics in South Africa began in 2003. Her book,  Zulu Pottery, was released in June 2012.
She’s an Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, U.S.A.
