specialist-gardens

A plant ecologist by training, after studying botany at UCT, she worked at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden.
Now an independent practitioner, she designs and installs indigenous landscapes.
Both disciplines have informed her understanding and concept of planting for specific purposes that she has distilled in her informative book: South African Indigenous Plant Palettes.

Career highlights include the Biodiversity Showcase Gardens in the Green Point Urban Park where indigenous plants are integrated with culture, history, art and the natural environment, and an American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) award-winning residential garden.

She shares her knowledge in talks and articles, exploring themes such as resilience, regenerative practices, and raises awareness about her passion for the urban ecosystem and the need for biodiversity in creating liveable cities.
